Abigail Kelly part of the B Side selection panel
Ten leading music practitioners and industry experts met on stage at the Birmingham Town Hall where many of the hits would have been played down the decades.
The panel comprised the MOBO award-winning Laura Mvula, Vix Vox from Fuzzbox, The Specials' Horace Panter and Phil Etheridge from The Twang.
Others include music journalists Pete Paphides and Matt Everitt, soprano Abigail Kelly and promoter Markus Sargeant. They had just three hours to cast their votes, with the chance to hear snippets as a refresher.

My First Blog
Dear visitors and friends,
Welcome to my first ever blog! I am very happy to announce that we have now enabled a blog on the website.
The English Touring Opera tour is finished
I am finally feeling rested after the English Touring Opera Spring tour.
Pride comes before a bump on the head
I always have an irrational nervousness before performances. However it is not due to the anxiety of performing but to the worry that I’ll fall over before I make it to the stage! Well my fears were justified.
Two blogs for the price of one.....
Long time, no blog! I’ve not updated my blog in a little while as I have been on a lovely summer vacation in Jamaica and America.
7 days, 4 countries, 3 continents and one jetlagged soprano!
I have done so much travelling in the last week and as of tomorrow I will be in South Africa!
South Africa - Part 2
